The following activities took place in class today:

1) A list of potential independent reading choice, with brief synopsis, was distributed and reviewed.

2) Three new terms added to the deck of 97 Sort Cards: literary elements, literary techniques, parts of speech; this brought the total deck to 100 cards.

3) Mr. Scott modelled the process of coding the 97 cards as either literary elements (LE), literary techniques (T), parts of speech (P) or "none of the above."

4) The Things They Carried Final test was administered.

Homework for Completion Over the Recess:

1) Students need to acquire via purchase or public library one of the six approved independent reading books for our next unit.

2) Code all 97 sort card terms as either literary elements (LE), literary techniques (T), parts of speech (P) or "none of the above."

Remember, it is YOUR responsibility to see the teacher PRIOR to Advisement and arrange for a pass when you need assistance with any home/classwork.
