Today our classes completed the following activities:

1) Quickie Quiz on the definitions for the most recently added Sort Card terms.

2) Discussion of the Themes and Essential Questions for Unit 3, with which we will be reading The Things They Carried by Tim O'Brien.

3) Pre-Writing Activity: Denoted "weights" (25, 50, 100 pounds) for each of the concrete and abstract things that we, as students, bring with us to school each day. Did a five minute free writing exercise in which we focused on the heaviest concrete "thing" on our list.

4) Read, as a class, the second chapter from the novel, "Love."

5) Began watching the documentary Dear America: Letters Home from Vietnam.

Homework due next class:

1) Complete questions 1, 3, 5, 7, 9 pertaining to Chapter 1, on loose-leaf.

2) Reading Assignment 2, Chapters 3 and 4.

Remember, it is YOUR responsibility to see the teacher PRIOR to Advisement and arrange for a pass when you need assistance with any home/classwork.
