The following six terms were added to our Sort Card deck: trauma

trauma, concrete, abstract, truth, weight, moral

Today our classes completed the following activities:

1) Daily Paragraph Proofreading

2) Wrap-Up Freedom Writers (2007) by identifying a connection to the film and inferring a theme.

3) Pre-Writing Activity: "How did you get here & what did you bring?" Students identify eight objects or things they brought with them to school today and two abstract ideas or "things" they also carried.

4) Individual student copies of The Things They Carried distributed and the Checking Out the Frameworks activity assigned for completion.

Homework:

1)Read the first chapter of the book, "The Things They Carried," pages 1-26.

2) There will be a quickie quiz on the terms pulled and given for Sort Cards.

Remember, it is YOUR responsibility to see the teacher PRIOR to Advisement and arrange for a pass when you need assistance with any home/classwork.
