Homework for October 9

English 11-2 Day B, Block 1

The following eight terms was added to the Sort Card deck, bring the total up to 71:
noun, noun as subject, verb, action verb, auxiliary verb, linking verb, subject, predicate
Please remember to arrange to see your teacher during Advisement if you need assistance with any of the following homework assignments:

1) Grammar Quiz next class.

English 11-3 Day B, Block 3

1) Select and respond to one of the two Journal Entry options:
Option 1:

a. On what special occasion did your shoes not match your clothing (outfit)?

b. What do the shoes that you wear “say” about you?

c. Write about a time when your shoes and/or clothing made you feel uncomfortable.

Option 2

a. Describe the people in your current or previous neighborhood who were the most feared by outsiders.

b. If Esperanza were describing your neighborhood, what is meant by her comment, "All brown all around, we are safe"?

c. Review how Esperanza described what happens when she or her neighbors drove into the neighborhood of another ethnic group?

d. What similar experience(s) have you had?
